Dr. Ahmed Barhoum is an enthusiastic, dedicated researcher with more than 15 years of experience in materials science and nanomanufacturing engineering. He obtained his Ph.D. and Postdoc-fellow in Chemical Engineering from Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Belgium). Currently, he is a senior researcher, National Centre for Sensor Research, School of Chemical Sciences, Dublin City University, Ireland. His current research interests are related to the synthesis of nanoparticles, nanofibers, and thin films for applications in the fields of energy materials, biosensors, and drug delivery. Dr. Barhoum has won several scientific grants and prizes for his academic excellence: Government of Ireland Fellowship (Ireland, 2020), First Place researcher at Helwan University (2019), Chinese Academy of Science (China, 2019), Institut français d'Égypte (France, 2018), Research Foundation Flanders (Belgium, 2016), Research Foundation Flanders (Belgium, 2015), Medastar Erasmus Mundus (Belgium, 2012), Welcome Erasmus Mundus (Italy, 2012), Institut français d'Égypte and Campus France (France, 2012), Gold Medal from Egyptian Syndicate of Scientific Professions (2007), Gold Medal from Helwan University (2007), and many more. He is an expert evaluator for several funding organizations e.g. National Science Center (Poland), Czech Science Foundation (Russia), Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF, Switzerland), and a reviewer for +20 peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Barhoum is also PI/Co-PI of 5 Research Projects, Member of 10 Research Projects, co-organizer of 4 conferences, editor of 6 Handbooks, co-authored of +80 publications, and effectively supervising 10 Ph.D. and master’s students.
Submission:
The book will be published by June 2021. We are currently inviting world-class researchers and experts in the field to contribute their expertise with a chapter, to properly highlight the discipline and to compile a timely reference work. Before Submitting the full manuscript editor recommend sending a two-page proposal for the chapter via email. Title, Authors, Affiliations, Abstract, and Table of Contents (TOC, titles/subtitles only) submission (2 Pages) should be directly sent to the editor/ Dr. Ahmed Barhoum via personal email (ahmed.barhoum@science.helwan.edu.eg).

Editor recommends the following format with a degree of flexibility
- Font type is time new roman (chapter title 16 Pt, subtitles 14 Pt, sub-subtitle 12 Pt)
- Title of the chapter (less than 10 words, including 1-3 keyword mention above)
- A brief introduction and topic overview of your specific topic: short Abstract (200 words), Introduction (2-3 Pages), other subtitles, conclusion, and future prospective
- Total Number of Words 7000-12000 Words
- Number of high-resolution Figures 5-10 highlighting the main issues of the chapter
- Number of tables 2-3 summarizing the state of the art in the chapter
- Reference Format: By Endnote or Mendeley (Authors, title, Volume, Pages, Year)
Reference Styles MathPhysSci; Citation style Numbered, and Numbering Style must be Content Only.
Important information
Since the book will include 3-4 introductory chapters on Nanocelluloses (History, Properties, Types, Classifications, standard definitions, Regulations, Toxicity), it is not recommended the contributors repeat this information in the next chapters. For example:
• If contributor(s) would write a chapter on cellulose nanofibers. We do not expect from contributors to introduce cellulose or nanocelluloses (properties, chemical structure, etc.) but we expect the contributors focus on cellulose nanofibers and compare its unique structure, morphology, properties, synthesis techniques, and applications compared with other types of nanocelluloses with suitable figures/Tables/Schemes for illustration.
• If contributor(s) would write a chapter on nanocelluloses for membrane applications we expect you to not to define nanocelluloses (properties, classifications, etc.) but start the chapter with identifying membranes (different types, unique properties, mechanism of action, fabrication techniques applications) and then how nanocelluloses could improve the membrane characteristics comparing with other materials with suitable figures/Tables/Schemes for illustration.
