Name: | The 2nd International Workshop of Advances in Simplifying Medical UltraSound (ASMUS2021) |
---|---|
Description: | (ASMUS) 2021, Held in Conjunction With the 24th International Conference on Medical Image Computing and Computer Assisted Intervention (MICCAI) 2021. We envisage a future for clinical ultrasound that combines advances both in medical image computing (MIC) and computer-assisted intervention (CAI), acknowledging this uniquely operator driven imaging modality and future robotic systems. The authors can choose to submit their manuscripts to either one of the following two sessions: 1. Live Demonstration Session Authors are highly encouraged to submit their papers to this category. During the workshop, authors of papers in this session are given the opportunity to showcase their technologies, research and development through live demonstrations and interaction with conference attendees. 2. Presentation Session This is the regular session of the workshop. Authors of each paper will give an oral presentation to introduce their contributions, algorithms, experiments and results. ASMUS is soliciting full-length paper submissions, including (bot not limited to) work from the following areas: Ultrasound Assisted by Artificial Intelligence and Medical Robotics 1.Ultrasound imaging with robotic (automated) assistance 2.Machine learning methods in ultrasound analysis and guidance 3.Automated interpretation and measurement for ultrasound 4.Ultrasound quality and skills assessment Multimodality Ultrasound Imaging 1.Ultrasound with other non-imaging sensory information, e.g. positional and eye tracking 2.Ultrasound with another pre-/intra-procedural imaging, e.g. camera videos, CT, MR, fluorescence 3.Different modes of ultrasound imaging, e.g. photoacoustic, Doppler, functional ultrasound, tissue quantification Applications 1.Global healthcare 2.Training sonographers and other users 3.Assisting non-expert healthcare professionals 4.Point-of-care ultrasound systems&scenarios 5.Assisting surgery and interventions 6.Streamlining clinical ultrasound workflow 7.Sonography data science Papers will consist of maximum 8 pages (text, figures and tables) + up to 2 pages for references only. They are to be submitted electronically in Springer LNCS (Lecture Notes in Computer Science) style, double blind review. The papers will be evaluated by external reviewers and our organizing committee for inclusion in the workshop as a presentation (oral or poster). Accepted full-length manuscripts will be published with Springer LNCS and the best papers will be selected for industry sponsored awards. Original research contributions are invited. Proof-of-concept research from novel research directions is also encouraged. |
