Name:Lean and Green Supply Chain Management: Optimization Models and Algorithms
Description:Description and Scope of the Book The dynamics of Supply Chain Management (SCM) has changed and accellerated over the years; new paradigms have been added into SCM to respond to changes based on the increasing economic, environmental and social concerns and pressures. In today’s global and competitive environment, Lean and Green practices have become most important factors to enhance the companies’ performance. Lean and green manufacturing philosophy and techniques facilitate companies to improve their business performance in terms of reducing manufacturing lead times and costs, to improve on time delivery and product quality, while becoming greener by minimizing material usage and waste and applying recycling and reuse. All these lean and green activities increase productivity, reduce carbon footprint and enhance customer satisfaction, which in turn make companies sustainable and competitive. Lots of models and methodologies have been proposed recently in the existing literature to design and optimize lean and green supply chain networks. In this context, we are pleased to announce the preparation of a book entitled “Lean and Green Supply Chain Management: Optimization Models and Algorithms”. The book will be an organized collection of contributions on the latest developments in Optimization and Optimal Control models and algorithms for logistics and transportation problems in the presence of lean and green paradigms. The aim of the book is to present a comprehensive and holistic reference resource, including novel optimization and control models and algorithms developed to achieve lean and green supply chains that enable and enhance business performance and environmental performance simultaneously. Target Audience The intended audience for this book includes academicians, practitioners as well as professionals in supply chain management. Main Themes The book includes contributions and reviews of the latest developments in optimization and optimal control models, exact, approximate and hybrid methods and their applications for lean and green supply chains, including but not limited to: – Lean and green supply chain network design and modelling, – Supply chain network design and optimization considering customer behaviors and environment, – Sustainable closed loop supply chains: Lean, green, agile/responsive and resillient networks, – Corporate social responsibility in lean and green supply chains, – Occupational health and safety in lean and green supply chains, – Lean and green supply chain management under uncertainty (stochastic or nonlinear modelling, and simulation based studies and optimal control), – Applications of Fuzzy Sets Theory and extensions (Type 2 fuzzy set, interval valued fuzzy set, intuitionistic fuzzy set, etc.) in lean and green supply chain management, – Multi-criteria decision making for lean and green supply chain management, – Risk management in lean and green supply chains, – Supplier selection with lean and green considerations, – Industry 4.0 applications as enablers of lean and green supply chains, – Design of lean and green automated warehouses, – Internet of Things for lean and green supply chains, – Cloud computing in supply chain management. Case studies or experimental applications and detailed literature surveys on models and algorithms developed for lean and green supply chains are welcome, too.
